Jan20 - Medals for Charity

Hi all, I'm clearing out my old medals for charity.
Welcome for it...kindly PM me at purrjen@hotmail.com

Jan23 - Happy Chinese New Year

This year is the year of the Dragon.
Everyone is really hype up over the dragon.
Dragon babies, 1st day of school etc.
Dragon is a mythical creature, unlike the other animals you can easily find.
So I got a dragon small toy from one of my suppliers. Previous year he gave me a toy rabbit.
Ultimately cute!!!

Also hampers from hotel contacts.
Reunion dinner was in a chinese restaurant. One of the dishes was called something like bag money.
They really made it look like it.
Visited a house for "pailin" & buffet lunch.
My 2nd time going for it. It also has lion dance performance.

But what I noticed behind the lion's head was really distasteful.
Lion performance is usually know to chase away the "sui" bad stuff & bring in the luck.
But placing advertisement on it, is just yuck!!!
This year I learnt my lesson & went for shopping at Berjaya Times Sq for my CNY shopping.
Usually on the 1st day of CNY its quite boring, so I'll just visit the shopping malls.
But the shops are majority closed. Bought 2 tops, my platform shoes replacement.
And the extreme investment is my Brooks Pure Connect shoes.
I didn't wanna get the purple shade coz I believe many others would get it. So went for the striking blue instead.
Went up to Alor Star to visit KS's family.
Weather was extremely hot compared to KL (rained every evening).

Gong Xi Fa Chai everyone!!!
- From Ks & me-

Dec25 - FKMY Christmas

Our office recently had a Christmas gathering in the office

The tree was up with lots of gift exchange presents.

We were all guessing beforehand the selected santa
Our santa was unexpectedly a woman!!!

Santa & Santarina getting ready for the distribution of presents
My gift was one of the smallest. I had asked for 3 items.
2 of them were ordered online jackets & the last option was a pair of contact lense.
Guess which one i got. darnnn....
The Christmas game was Guess the Christmas Carol....but majority of the songs were not recognised.
I guessed correctly for my group & got a mug
Last but not least, the food galoorreeee

Salivating yet?!!
Christmas present for myself. Actually I never had this custom until I met KS. He's going like every overseas country is having sale during the festivities so it's really affordable.

KS bought me a Salomon pink dri-fit shirt & running shorts. Gawd knows the last time I got myself a pair of shorts. I got myself a running jacket, long sleeves dri-fit shirt (preparing for Tokyo Marathon cold weather), a designer boots from Dino Direct & a colleague gave me a Adidas pink cap.

Dec20 - Gemini & Pole Duo (last class in Talent Hub)

Our Intermediate class has start to diminished itself to only myself & Julie. So we have been requested to head to Viva Stage in KL from Feb onwards. Plussss...I'll only be attending 2 classes per month from Jan-Mar. Thankfully Viva Stage is a walk away from the LRT station.

Dec15 - Running Jacket

Recently I bought a running rain jacket from Dino Direct. The great thing about this website is the FOC delivery charges to anywhere around the world.
Due to last year's Seoul Marathon run, it was raining & freaking cold, KS & I decided to get ourselves a jacket to prepare for Tokyo Marathon 2012. Eamkevc™  Long Sleeve Hoodie Outerwear Raincoat.
Pros is that the jacket is really compact & stylish. Too bad no visor, but that's wat my cap is for. Cons is that there's no ventilation. I found out that running jacket has an opening at the back for the wind to flow thru. After my run in the Malaysia tropically climate, I was internally drench from sweat rather than externally wet from the rain. Before the big run, I think i'll modify it abit with an opening at the back.

Nov27 - We Run KL Nike 2011

The first We Run KL 10k was in year 2010. It was such a hit, that I believe the organisers decided to make it as an annual event. Last year I was racing another event so missed it, & I didn't want to cramp with the ppl at Bukit Bintang.
What made me decided to go this year? I really don't know. Maybe because the registration fee was cheaper for 2 pax (RM40) compared to single registration at RM30. Maybe because the route was changed to Padang Merbok instead of the Golden triangle.
Last year's shirt was bright yellow. Total publicity stunt but a good one.
Our numbers were printed on the shirts so its a compulsory to wear it. But for RM20, I believe its worth it. It's a Nike Shirt, which normally cost >RM40. & the quality of the material is thumbs-up.
Like I said, the run started at Padang Merbok. We were contained in the cage aka "kandang" but the line was freakinnnnnggg long. So KS & I turned bad guys & cut into the middle when the horn was blown. I'm so sorry to those at the back.
I had not run for sometime after my triathlon season. So a 10k was quite tiring for me. Imagine that. I knew the route at the back of my hand, every hill, flat etc. Thankfully Jeff (Ultramaratoner) appeared behind be at the 8k mark to motivate me. Especially the hills, where I always turn lazy.
KS had a power run due to his training
Our completion price was a thumbdrive instead of medal. Gave that to my mom coz she was asking for it. It was really cute but abit bulky.

Results was 15th placing at 56mins.  Is it my PB?
I don't think so but then it's considered a painful fun run for me anyway.
I think I'm aiming PB more towards marathon 42k. Short distance is too painful. hahhaha
